So.. I had a bad crash and my gimbal got a bit twisted. I fixed the twisted pieces as best as possible and connected everything back up. I reset my gimbal and reinstalled the latest firmware. The gimbal seems to be working fine as far as I can tell. I've not yet taken it out for a flight but...
I live in Tampa Florida where the crash happened. The last time I flew and calibrated was in Melbourne florida. This might of been my mistake as I do not think I calibrate when I returned back home. Thanks Great Pumpkin for the information an links.
Another thought is that maybe the metal of the soccer goal affected the compass? I was maybe 2 to 3 feet above the goal when the phantom took its dive?
So I looked under the hood, everything looks fine. I see no lose connections or areas of concern. I put the battery in and it started without any issues. All motors turned.
The battery flew out during the crash so the motors where off. I did not try to restart it after the crash. The battery is actually brand new just came in the mail. I made sure that the battery also updated to latest firmware.
So i was flying my phantom 2 as I usually do in the soccer fields and my phantom just lost control and took a dive straight into the ground. Not sure what happened and why it happend so I'm looking for some possible reasons from members of the forum.
To give you some background I've been...
I just bought one from Amazon a few days ago and had the exact same problem. I shipped it back today and should get a new one by Friday. Maybe a bad batch of batteries out there.
