I don't even have the radio antenna's. I cut the wires when I was installing the range extender and just threw them away as I wasn't ever expecting to need them again.
So in my attempt to add an extended range setup to my controller, I ultimately screwed up two controllers. Luckily one was from my old P3P which crashed so it didn't cost me anything, but still frustrating. Anyway, I have decided to forget any mods and just go back to a stock controller.

Not yet. You will still have to take a test. Still a lot of uncertainty around it, but more exact details should be available in August.
Actually, the main details are available in part 107, but the testing process isn't clear yet.
I received my Drone Trekker yesterday. Couldn't be happier with it. I have plenty of room for my P4, 4 batteries, and controller. I am not even concerned when I put the MaxxUAV kit on mine, I should still have plenty of room.
I had one of the foam based backpacks for my P3 and it was much...
I did some more research. It looks like the GL300A is actually a little more desirable with the extra chip. I think I will mod the P4 controller and keep the 300A stock. I just decided to get my new P4 so I wasn't aware of the differences.
Thanks for the feedback.
I have my P3P controller left over from when I lost my P3P in a lake. I just bought a new P4 and also purchased the MaxxUAV kit for it. I got to thinking it would be nice to have one normal controller for close flights and mod the other controller for long range flights. I am pretty sure the...
I may have missed something along the way, but the actual aircraft aren't registered, correct? The pilot registers with the FAA, but we provide no aircraft details (at least I didn't). I just want to make sure I didn't miss something. I see a lot of people saying they registered their drone...
I think we all need to use some clearer language when naming "logs". There are "aircraft logs" and "controller/app logs". They are not the same. When naming a log, explain which log. DJI isn't always clear about this either, but the aircraft log is what they use to validate any crash...
