What is the biggest and best battery I could use on Phantom

Re: What is the biggest and best battery I could use on Phan I run the Dinogy 2800 batteries and recommend them. They are a bit fatter than the stock batteries though and a tight squeeze in the battery bay with the connecting wires stuffed inside. So I cut a hole in the belly and one in the...

    FS: Phantom 1.1.1 with upgrades

Looking to step up to a Phantom 2, so the P1 would have to go. Thought of swapping the parts into a P2 shell but don't have the time for a project like that. So here's what is up for grabs: Phantom 1.1.1. / stock Tx with gimbal lever ($500) Upgrade board installed ($75) H3-2D gimbal installed...

    Building your own Drone

I've thought about yanking the guts out of my Phantom, measuring where all the mounting points are for the board, motors and ESCs... and winging it from there. Can't be that hard I figure. Lots of places to get CF tubes and flat boards to cut as needed. Would be pretty cool to make your own...

    Dinogy 2800 Battery Review

Someone asked about em in another forum. I added a photo there so figured I would here too. I had to cut a few holes in the battery door and P1 belly to fit these batteries in. They do fit... but it's snug. Couldn't plug them in though with the wires bunched up inside so I ran them out the door...

    FPV for Phantom1

Thanks for the reply! So far I'm liking the Dinogy batteries. If I fly with a heavy left thumb I get about 9 minutes. With typical flying (for me anyways) I can get 11:30. They are a tight squeeze in the P1 and I had to cut some holes in the battery door and belly to run the battery wires...

    Avoiding Phantom in Video Frame

I shoot in Medium vs wide or super wide to avoid that. And to keep the props out of the top of the frame I often shoot in 2.7K and zoom or crop in post. That way I can still render a 1080 video, so long as I'm not wanting 60fps of course.

    Normal 'feel' for good motors?

I always watch the props spin down from idle to a stop after a flight. If any stop abruptly in comparison to the rest, it could be a sign of friction within the motor.

    FPV for Phantom1

Sorry to hijack the thread.... last time, I promise lol. So here's the road I'm thinking of going down: Immersion 600mw 5.8 Tx Immersion 5.8 Uno Rx (going single to start off with and to save $$) Fat Shark Teleporter V3 goggles FPVLR Antennae Immersion RC Plug And Play Cable for GoPro Any...

    Carbon Fiber Question

Pondering the idea of transplanting my P1 guts into a DIY naked CF frame of the Phantom's dimensions. Doesn't sound like it would be too big a hassle. But would the standard GPS that sticks to the underside of the upper shell be able to get a signal through carbon fiber, or would it require the...

    Dinogy 2800 Battery Review

Just a quick review for anyone interested. Previous set up: Stock Phantom (1.1.1.) with the stock GoPro mount and stock battery = 7-8 minutes air time Currently: Added P2 props, upgrade board (P330), H3-2D gimbal = 11:30 air time. That lift off to auto-land on the reds. Not too shabby 8-)

    Video Editing

Agreed with regards to Lynda.com. It's a fantastic site with tutorials on anything and everything from creation to editing. Makes some of the more intimidating programmes from Adobe and the like far more enjoyable to use.

I'm a fan of Adobe After Effects myself. Photoshop CS6 is also fairly handy at doing edits in video.
