Those look original to me, I also bought from the Blue Proton site the same equipment but version 1.....I believe, 2 panels and 1 pole antenna back then, a year or so ago.
I too have the same problem, at first I contacted DJI and they blamed it on the phone I was using as it wasn't on their...
My FPV signal is o.k it's my 5.8GHz that seems to drop off, I always seem to have decent FPV signal but can't get much past 100m or so before the bird initiates RTH ?? Any ideas ?
I too am looking for an answer to my crap distance performance of my P3S and have just found this thread and read your post.
If the 2.4GHz frequency is for video and telemetry signal and 5.8GHz is the frequency between the RC and the AC relating to the distance you can achieve surely bolting on...
That was with Beginner mode off.....terrible I know, that's why I'm pissed off and bought the ARGtek's, re-linked the RC and am now trying the Magic Power.
I'm not the only one that has had the same issues....there is numerous posts on the web and YouTube etc about this.
DJI has promised this...
I updated my P3S with the Magic Power V5 recently and took out the Phantom for a flight this morning, and sadly I can't say I noticed any difference.

Just found this thread and I experience the same short distance problem with my Std.
I have had my P3S for a few months now and was originally flying in town/city parks etc and experiencing short distance problem, so I have been going further a field into the countryside on the quest for better...
Rob, hopefully sorted now but it may be worth noting what balance socket you are using on your charger. I had a similar problem a while back only to discover that I was most likely inserting the battery's balance lead into the wrong socket.
Something like this happened to me a while back and someone posted back to me advising me to ensure that I was inserting the battery's balance lead into the correct slot when charging, I have done this every time when charging my battery's and have never had the problem again....so possibly...
