Aliso and Woods canyons are just a stones throw from DP. Top of the world is beautiful and lots of places to fly, but you will need to do some hiking to get away from all the people at the park. But it’s great flying when you get away!

Come to the Dana Point harbor and surrounding areas. That’s where I fly all the time. Park Rangers might approach you but only to remind you of safe flying etc.

If you know the risks, then why press your luck? Why risk your AC if you know what you're doing is illegal? I'm going to Venice and Tuscany in December and there are plenty of places to fly, legally. It's this kind of mindset that gives drone pilots a bad rap.

FYI. I fly in the CA State beach in Dana Point all the time. There is one protected space along the headland area but as long as you fly safe and follow FAA regulations you can fly. This is per the park rangers here who kindly reminded me of those rules. Lots of wonderful places to film here.
