I've been contemplating a way to slow down the YAW axis as well for smoother panning. Couldn't you just reduce the YAW gain with the assistant? This is a neat mod though and I'd love to see video of the results as someone already suggested.

Along with ANY visual warning there should be an audio alert as well. Often when I'm recording I'm looking back and forth between the display and the Phantom and might not notice a strictly visual clue. Like yesterday when I was flying, I found out that the newest firmware puts up a message...

OK, I can't be the only one! I get so excited about flying that 50% of the time I don't realize that I haven't recorded the flight, usually when landing! Did it twice yesterday with potentially the best footage I've had to this point. So disappointed!

Your wording still isn't clear. From what I understand, when home point is established, altitude is zero. If you fly someplace below the altitude zero (certainly possible if you are on the top of a hill or a building) and RTH is initialized, the Phantom will rise to 20 meters above the home...
