    Haven't flown since April

NO, NO, NO!!! DO NOT UPDATE!!! I have not updated my P4 since May of 2016 and had zero problems and no real flight restrictions have been put on my bird. Do a test flight and if all seems normal, then leave it alone. All I read on here is complaints about firmware and software updates...

    Latest firmware

I could see this starting to happen when I bought my P4 a little over a year ago. It's also why I have NOT updated the software or firmware since then. When needed I switch over to Litchi (again it's not been updated in 6 months). So far, I've not ever been unable to fly wherever I wanted. I...

    DJI has abandoned professionals

    Packard Plant in Detroit

The plant was sold to an investor from Peru, who plans on renovating some of the structures and using them for multi-use purposes, keeping the look of the original factory intact. Not sure how realistic this is, but time will tell. There are now security that roam the half mile area that...

    Packard Plant in Detroit

On a recent trip to Detroit, I was able to capture some footage of the old Packard plant. This place is immense! It officially closed in 1958, the last real Packard released in 1956. The sprawling factory covers 3.5 million square feet and is over a half mile in length. Enjoy!

    Battery warning for overseas travel!

I returned from Europe recently and when I started unpacking I was in for a rude awakening! My 2 spare drone batteries had been removed and held by the Swiss authorities, along with my professional ENG camera battery!? I have been flying all over the world for 20 years with professional...

Back from a 3 week trek across Europe. Enjoy!

Hmmmm... I don't see a tilted horizon. One shot in Germany may perhaps have a slight tilt, but another scene shot within a few minutes of the one in the video is flat. All of the others are level, although some objects in the frame are at angles that can be deceiving. Thus far, I've not had...

    Near Disaster, Amazing Recovery...

I gave the blades away to my client, who was quite impressed at the flight recovery. Did not take any pics of the damage unfortunately. As others have talked about here multiple times. The biggest take-away is that a pilot must remember that height and depth perception are not accurate from...

Back from a 3 week trek across Europe. Enjoy!

Glad you enjoyed the video! For an American, Europe offers endless possibilities for incredible footage. :) Perhaps for no other reason than it's exciting to shoot on foreign soil.

    Near Disaster, Amazing Recovery...

I was flying my P4 on a flight sequence in Austria a few weeks ago. It was a planned out sequence, but operated manually. I knew I was above the roof line of the subject building, but wanted to stay close for effect. I had 2 spotters on the ground, but I was focused on the shot, not the...

Back from a 3 week trek across Europe. Enjoy!

I just returned from a 3 week production trek across Europe. The P4 was used for establishing shots and support images. We shot in Switzerland, Germany, Austria, and Italy. Thought you might enjoy the images. Any shots over villages, we had permission of the city. Midway through this...

Its Official.......the P4 has made me insane

That's not normal, if you have cleaned the lens, then it appears be an issue under the glass. Since it's only a week old, see if they will swap it out for you, that appears to be a factory issue.

Its Official.......the P4 has made me insane

The problem lies with the H.264 codec, it's great for high compression and internet use, pure crap for editing on a real system. However, that being said, the same problem exists with video shot on GoPros and that footage is used everywhere and accepted by broadcasters. Today you can get away...

Speed Limit and Active Track Questions

I've had the exact same issue when trying to track cars, although I've seen it at speeds up to 15mph, the average seems to be around 7-8 when tracking. I don't need high speed, I can always adjust in post, but at least 25mph is required for the desired effect. Pretty frustrating since the...
