If I understand correctly, it's a hypothetical (if it were possible to turn off GPS, even then it wouldn't be worth the risk). Also, IMHO, if it were possible to carry a load of gold ingots under your Phantom, that too wouldn't be worth the risk...:D

Thanks! That's the nugget of important info -- when you go blind and panic sets in (and you can't remember the sequence RTH wants you to go through) killing the controller is the answer

Toss the props. I once had a minor mishap--an overturned landing. Dirtied the props a bit, but no visible damage to anything. The next time the bird flew, all was fine -- until he went berserk and fell out of the sky. No apparent reason ... except one of the props was sheared in half. I found...

Scary. Was your bird too close to the tower, moving too slow, or was the tower broadcasting ???? It should take 3 seconds of LOS before returning home (and its close brush with fate)...(: )

So you really have to have the battery in the bird to read the exact % of charge (can't tell just via the lights)??

Although I tend to agree with 0DRK3T, I live in a resort area where very loud private aircraft fly overhead all summer long. I accept that without blinking. Perhaps because people are inside them they have a more legitimate "right" to make noise/invade the sky, but our drones are proportionately...

Soooo...the takeaway is that a reasonable working margin of safety for our P3's (Pro or Advanced) would be 15' for altitude, 15' radius horizontal (30' diameter)?

Good looking work. I always try for a story line: beginning, middle, end. Something happening at the end of each 'act' -- and then music that makes sense with the cuts. This takes time, though (and often the visuals are entertaining enough for 1:30).
