Yes, conditions of course will vary this kind of thing, however. Some lag is not only normal, but expected, as the signals that carry the video stream take time to reach your receiver, your phone or tablet has to process the image before it's displayed, etc., etc.

From my experience, it helps to use the phrase "Toy Helicopter" or "RC Helicopter" instead of any variation on the word "Drone". Probably won't make a difference to the crazies, but helps with 'normal' people.

There was very little fish-eye because in 99% of all my shots I am pointing the camera straight ahead of the drone in order to minimize it's impact on the central most portions of the picture.

This has largely been my experience as well. Phone used is a stock Nexus 4. 1 year of Parrot ARDrone 2.0 experience prior to the P2V+. Probably spent 16+ hours reading manuals and watching YouYube videos between ordering and receiving it.
