Re: Futaba FG8-Which cannel to use for retractable landing g
since I think thats only a 8-channel TX, the only free channels are 5 and 8,. . and with 5 being used for Gimbal tilt/X1 gain control, your only practical choice is probably Channel 8.
There's no single "best" setting, as everyone has different needs.
If I'm shooting just for video, I'll often shoot 2.7k with ProRes on.
But if I'm shooting for fun, but also wanting the highest quality stills at the same time, I'll often shoot 1440 at 24fps + stills.
- 60fps is overkill...
for regular props,. the only one you want to get is a DuBro. hands down.
balancing the self-tightening props tho, can be tricky I've heard, requiring some additional tools
Not really sure if there' much of a difference, or if so, just how much. Imagine it's negligible in the scheme of things.
(it's not like these cards are continually used like computer hard drives on a daily basis).
But not all Class 10's are the same, if you're looking for one for a GoPro...
Manual mode is not quite the correct answer.
If you flip to ATTI mode, it basically does disengage the GPS , ..then the only thing that's it's using is the gyro's to stay stable in flight.
switching to Manual mode goes further and removes the gyro stabilization. But trust me, it's sketchy...
For those who have a slightly higher budget and don't want to mess with quirky sim cards, I recommend the Tagg tracker (tagg.com). works pretty well, the charge lasts for nearly a month, and only 32g.
plus very easily attached to the leg of the Phantom. - tho it does have a monthly charge...
definitely a classic flyaway scenario with the banking/45degree/full speed . same thing happened to me once with my f450
the tough part about when they happen is that it's almost impossible to tell just what went wrong when you rule out operator error.
but glad you were able to recover yours!
It's been discussed many times in the past, and while some parts are compatible, most would argue that it's not worth it to sacrifice a Phantom towards building another larger quad or hex.
the NAZA inside would work,. same with the motors and the rx- but the ESC's and GPS are specifically made...
there's a slight chance you might have either damaged the GPS or the GPS became unplugged in your crash - which will result in the craft flying in ATTI mode. Might have to open it up to see.
