Steps for taking drone out of hibernation

Is there still any benefit to not updating the software? I just looked up the DJI no fly zones and they now look a lot less restrictive.

Steps for taking drone out of hibernation

My drone has sat unused for two years. I pulled it out last summer but the remote wouldn’t charge or stay powered on. It was just out of the warranty period so I put it away very annoyed. This summer I pulled it back out and sent the remote to DJI for an out of warranty repair and replacement of...

need an aerial picture taken in Baltimore on 7/21

I am looking for a fellow pilot to take one aerial group photo at a wedding on 7/21 in the early evening. The wedding is in Baltimore at the Museum of Industry right on the harbor. My remote control suddenly won't connect and I don't think I'll have it fixed by the 7/21. I kind of promised I'd...

The Aerial Dragnet program...coming to a city near you?

The US Government is taking the threat of small UAVs to a whole new level. Through DARPA, they have put out an RFP to develop a system of monitoring UAVs flying at less than 1,000 feet in large cities. The phrase "persistent, wide-area surveillance of small unmanned aerial systems" sounds like a...

    Real estate shoot charge?

I would do it for your friend for cheap. Then when people ask where he got his awesome aerial photos he can recommend you. Start low and build your business up. When there is demand, you can charge more and pick the jobs you want.

Not THAT bad after 1500' death plunge

Explain how the AC can receive a signal when the antennas are in the legs angling down and away and the RC is below. At a certain height directly overhead, the signal is lost. Moving out from under the AC reestablishes the signal. This is well documented on here and I've seen a DJI tutorial...

Not THAT bad after 1500' death plunge

I am aware of that. How do the AC antennas receive? Sent from my iPhone using PhantomPilots mobile app

Not THAT bad after 1500' death plunge

Really? Explain how that helps the signal get to the antennas on the AC when it's directly above you? I am well aware how the RC antenna orientation works. Sent from my iPhone using PhantomPilots mobile app

Not THAT bad after 1500' death plunge

The way it was explained to me is this, the signal comes out of the bottom of the AC in a cone shape but with a blind spot directly below. The higher up it goes the wider the spread of the blind spot. Around 1K is where the blind spot is too wide and the signal is lost. Sent from my iPhone...

Not THAT bad after 1500' death plunge

Straight up, especially that high, is really bad for maintaining a signal. Sent from my iPhone using PhantomPilots mobile app
