I'm right there with you bud. Out here in the desert in California. Was 117 as well. I fly in the early mornings to get out there. Like 6am. The other day I was out in 97 degree and my IPad Pro over heated.. Thankfully I had JUST got above me to bring her down.

I had a guy come down the street from two blocks over one time asking me not to fly in the area. Well I do like in s neighborhood that is surrounded by deserts. It's impossible starting from my house to get there ( and I can with a clear LOS ) with out flying over anyone's house. I don't hover...
Thankfully where I live, in the desert I have only palm trees which honestly are not very big. I can fly down my street into the desert with LOS..
I flew today for fun, using my FPVLR antenna. Which worked docent but still only as good as stock.

I test in the same area. I fly the same directions, from my house, 3 routes. I got 2300 feet with FPVLR antenna, same route stock, 3400 feet..
Another direction 6200ft with " Boosted " , stock 7600ft..

I just got off the phone with Jake@MaxxUAV and we worked everything out.
Thankfully he had a brand new P4 Controller he is going to modify for me, so I have a brand new setup. New RC, and New Antenna, with the Evo Kit Plus. Looking forward to getting this...
