That's where we'll see how smart the company really is. It would be really stupid in my mind to change the format with so many people having cases and mounts, etc.

Sounds like you didn't calibrate the compass before taking off. I'm guessing that's why it flew away (conflict between the compass and the GPS).
Would also be a good idea to upgrade the firmware of the Phantom and the transmitter.
Yes. I used to turn it on before powering the Phantom and I would adjust the settings on the GoPro wile the Phantom would find the GPS signal. Just before takeoff I would activate the camera.
