Just a warning to everyone cutting the plastic on the battery... DO NOT puncture the skin of the battery. This external "pouch" keeps the lipo contents contained if ever there is a failure.
Also, if you have soft dampers installed, perhaps the gimbal is "bouncing" in wind and during maneuvers. You'll see if you push up on the gimbal that the motor can actually get closer to the battery. I don't have a problem with some washers and the white dampers...but it might be worth...
Re: H3-3d "twitch" in initialization process, and then drift
I removed my pins and use cable ties. I don't think the "twitch" was caused by the pins anyways. It seems to be a normal boot up procedure with the phantom 2...once I'm flying, everything is fine.
Although I couldn't feel any drag on the yaw axis when testing, it only took a very slight upwards pressure to make it rub. I've added some small plastic washers and will be flying this weekend! Will let you know.
I'm also trying to figure out how to do this. I suppose if you swapped all the circuit boards and power wiring over to some sort of handheld box it would work (the same as if you were holding the phantom, but with a handle. I've heard that the Wookong-M works better as the controller for...
Re: H3-3d "twitch" in initialization process, and then drift
Yeah, I was having that issue before (I think...please see video below to help me diagnose!) and I have since added small washers to distance it a bit.

Just upgraded the firmware to 1.0.0.6, and now the gimbal has started doing this:

After the horizontal "waggle", it now twitches a few times as if it is hitting a hard stop, and then it drifts in the yaw axis to the left or right. Any ideas what's...
Hi -
Is this the symptom of the pan axis motor "dragging" on the battery like you explained above? I had my first flight with my phantom 2 today, and this would happen a couple times each flight. Couldn't really pinpoint any specific flying activities that cause it...most of the time just...
