Hi guys
This is the deal.
Apparently the court hearing will be 600kms away. I could attend by phone but they discourage it. I will spend more in fuel and accommodation than the repair is worth. I am also a single father and have commitments to my kids.
I can buy a shell and a motor for...
Hi guys
Just heard from the DFT. The director of the reseller apparently reviewed the case again and is of the same opinion as DJI. He also mentioned where I landed (grass as opposed to a flat surface) was also a contributor.
Very disappointed.
I am pursuing this further.
Thanks GG.
I won't lie, this has really turned me off the whole drone thing and has me thinking about selling it. I have a very sour taste in my mouth.
Hi guys
Just a quick update.
I completed a submission to Dept of Fair Trading (DFT) and the DFT is in talks with the director of the reseller I bought it from. Apparently the buck stops with the reseller and they can be ordered to replace/repair the item. If then the resller isn't compensated...
You bet. I'll keep you all informed. I have a case number now and a case manager will be assigned within the next two weeks.

Well DJI have yet again refused to warrant the issue. I am contacting the Dept of Fair Trading to sort this out and to see if I have a case.
I'll let you know how this goes.
Yes, we've been down this road. ;)
It was a matter of interpretation as to the throttle position. No I didn't have it fully pushed down, but, they didn't specify to do this. Just that it be pushed down, which I did.
When it touched down, CSC was performed and it tipped.
All good bud. :)
I agree, this whole thing has me absolutely flabbergasted that DJI can recommend a landing method that is so risky and obviously prone to failure. A big eye opener for me considering the calibre of machines we're using. Scrap Method 1 ASAP!
Because the manual says you can and it's listed as Method 1 maybe?
That's why I did.
The manual states "Motors will stop immediately" when the CSC is performed. It's a pretty attractive option when you're a newbie.
PS. I have a P3P and it's in the latest version (v1.8) of the manual.
