Ok, background, when you take a STL object, which is what I posted, you run it through a slicing program. This program will produce what is called G-code. G-code is nothing more that a xyz (and e in the case of a 3d printer, CNC also uses G-Ccode just created differently) coordinates system...
Fritz,
sounds like a cool idea, Ill give it a shot, but it may take a while as I currently don't have any black filament. Ill see if I can get the object created sooner.
I was more concerned with the weight partially hanging by the fragile gimbal. Remember this was in reference to the clamp not being AS secure to the leg which would have left a portion of the gimbal locks weight being supported by the camera. So by making the lock tighter to the leg I was able...
Thanks for the feedback dataway.
The other option for printing might be to scale up to make it loosen on the leg. That part was specifically the most difficult and was kind of a judgment call since I know everyone will have slightly different tolerances on their printers. I did test a few with...

There are online services like shapeways that will print and ship. I see so many items out there that cost and was just hoping to donate my time to try and make things better without adding cost. That being said, I guess I could ebay some in order to cover actual costs and shipping...
Yes I know the Vison + comes with a gimbal lock. I had created a 3d printable gimbal lock/lens cover for the GoPro Phantom2 h3-3d and someone requested one for the Vision + that would be easier to remove, hope this does the trick.

you will also need to supply power to the vTx, there is a cable that should come with the vtx for doing this but may not be so plug and play. Also you have not listed a osd (on screen display), if you are planning on flying fpv those are really handy, but would go in between the gopro and the...
The part that covers the lens is actually about 3-4mm off the lens. It is further held off by the area of the gimbal mount that is taller than the GoPro if that makes sense. In other words the physical dimensions of the gimbal/GoPro with the cover installed will not allow the cover to contact...
I posted one on thingiverse a few days ago if you have a 3d printer. I wanted one that would protect the lens and not require any additional parts

sorry if this is you on shapeways, not trying to take away from anybody's products, just trying to offer a...
For any 3d printers out there I posted a gimbal lock on thingiverse.com, its not pretty but does the job nicely. just slides onto the GoPro and clips onto a leg. also it does somewhat protect the GoPro lens.

hope someone finds it of value
