This is the exact issue I've seen mentioned and that it took a firmware update to address it. Batteries in the 50% area, the software think they're flatter than they are and they drop to critical levels really fast. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I thought there was a reported known issue with batteries if you shut the props down, then start up and take off again with a less than full battery. Or am I mistaking that for an issue with the Inspires? Can't keep track now that I fly both.

No, wherever there is a list of threads, if you hover over a thread, a box with a preview of the first few lines appears. I used to have it. I'm assuming it's at my end that it has changed, but I can't find a setting anywhere for such a thing. Not in forum settings, not in my internet settings...

I guess it depends on the size and nature of what it hits. I misjudged how far behind a tree I was, and flew through the tree instead of flying behind it, and it passed straight through and out the other side, with just some trimmed leaves and branches, and some stains on the props. On another...

There's a Ted Talk where a presenter demonstrates automation of drones, and he's in a huge netted area. Several drone expos have them being demonstrated in netted areas. I guess the insurance companies insist on such things to provide the public liability.

I'll second the padhat for the Air2. Mine works really well. Very happy with it. It's a tiny bit challenging if you need to operate things on the screen, but so much can be controlled by the controller, including switching between camera and video, there aren't too many times I need to do stuff...
