Cool. Thanks, again guys. Making a lot more sense now. Guess the actual limitations of the bird, and my abilities, were just one notch lower than I thought. Things kind of dominoed almost out of control on this one. Live and learn. Hope the conversation helps someone else stay out of trouble.
Great! Thank you! Nice link to another log viewer as well. I hadn't seen that one.
What about the "Warning Motor Overloaded. Aircraft will decelerate to ensure safety"? I've never seen that and do see in the log that occured at 6:01 and 7:58. Any ideas or experience with that? What is it...
Weird flight today. Almost lost it. VERY high winds (please spare me the you shouldn't have been flying speech) but I have experience flying in high winds so felt semi-OK with the conditions. Log attached. Everything was normal until the bird started drifting. I swear I didn't switch to ATTI...
I wouldn't stress about the bird being able to handle the wind. It's an extremely capable machine. The issue regarding wind is making it back if you've flown downwind. Easy solution...always place your takeoff area downwind of where you intend to fly. That way if the wind is too high for you to...
Amazon.com : Weaver Leather Throw Weight : Sports & Outdoors
Local arbolists or fireman might be able to help. YouTube "arbolist climbing"...they do some amazing things. For really high stuff use a throw weight to get a rope around a nearby limb and shake it down.
Just came across this and think everyone here would have better judgement than make your first flight in such tight quarters. Interesting how she struggles to turn it off.
I bought a VR box for my phone on eBay for $20 then use FPV cameras iPhone app $4 and purchased their FPV goggles app (in app purchase $7+-.) Glare problem solved! I went out with a friend yesterday who has the dominator fat sharks and we compared side-by-side. The fat sharks are slightly...
Actually I'd round up to 14%...Effect of prop-guards on flight time (13.9% reduction)
I did the video so let me know if you have any questions. I was equally surprised, and really haven't used my prop guards since.
Was that a CSC that you recovered from? Can't figure out how else that would happen. If so it's the first recovery I've seen! Cool! Trying that should take care of anyone that's bored. I'm not there yet...;)
Adding to the list of things I've learned:
5) Don't fly, while the deer hunters are in the blinds. Again it's surprising loud and spooks the deer. You sure aren't going to make you any friends.
Deer rifle is one thing, but a shotgun is a totally different story. I wouldn't even think of flying...
Don't know about ducks but have flown a bit in Texas, looking for game (with very limited success) I have a P3A and have learned;
1) Realtime video is't quite good enough to identify animals unless you know pretty much where to look.
2) So I send the bird out and have to view the recorded video...
