    Litchi vs. AutoFlightLogic AutoPilot

Litchi is easier to use and you will find lots of folks here who can help you. Litchi is a comprehensive ground control station. It's very good and well supported. Autopilot is also a comprehensive ground control station. However, it is difficult to use because of an odd interface. Autopilot...

    Autopilot - tips?

Look. I'm really not trying to get in an argument with you. No matter what I say you seem to get very upset. The way I see it, you ranted at a hard working developer. You felt entitled to a discount. You left your post at that for a few months. Even after they bent over backwards to accommodate...

    Autopilot - tips?

I still maintain that it's more important, and SAFER to scout a location with your own eyes. Never rely on maps. Image quality AND accuracy is not consistent throughout the world (or even in the US). It's a safety issue more than anything else. You may think that isn't constructive advice...

    FPV Camera versus Litchi?

Great. I think I'll give FPV Camera a try.

    FPV Camera versus Litchi?

Does FPV Camera have anything along the lines of a Cable Cam? By that I mean fly to point "A", tilt and yaw to frame your shot, hit a button to record waypoint. Move to point B, frame your shot, click a button and move to C... and so on. I see FPV Cam has got a waypoint mission planner, but...

    Litchi question

I haven't tried, and I'm admittedly only a couple weeks into learning Litchi, but my understanding is NO, you can't fly autonomous missions in Sport mode. In fact, switching to sport mode is how you interrupt and disengage Litchi.

    Litchi question

Yeah. I've done a ton of experimentation with Litchi and AutoPilot since I posted that. Speed is a factor, but also I've found that the quality of the connection between the P4 and the controller is important. I assume its because Litchi actively monitors and sends fine tune adjustments to the...

    Folding props

Yeah. It's looking that way. DIYdrones.com and rcgroups would be the place to start.

    Folding props

I should add, if I were starting from scratch I'd think a lot about aerodynamics. It can get scary windy up high. Every little bit of additional wind resistance will be key. Folks talk about "fly aways" but when flying around high altitude mountain ridge lines, you can get a "blow away" if your...

    Folding props

I actually didn't build it. It was a loaner from a friend. Yes, there are definetly special considerations. RC Groups or DIYdrones will give you better advice than me, but the basic guidelines would be first to go with a hex or octo frame. Probably a hex (less air displacement, but lighter...

    Folding props

just flew Hintertux (Austria) 6 months ago. Forget the glaciers, everything about the the Alps are epic. Used a DIY machine I built, so not sure if a Phantom can really truly handle the altitudes. I met some guys with a couple modified Iris+'s but no phantoms. I hope the p3 or p4 can really...

    Folding props

Really? Just assumed smaller and lighter. Maybe someone whose actually flown a p3 and a p4 at altitude can confirm which does better. My money is still on the p4.

    Folding props

Performance will degrade significantly at higher altitudes. It will be sluggish, which is fine for smoth video, but less maneuravble so careful in close. Battery drop off is much faster toward the end of flights, so start heading back early. Expect short flights and treat 25% battery as if your...

    Folding props

If your flying in Switzerland, then altitude will be an issue. The Hexo+ does well at altitude. The phantom 4 does ok. Don't know about the P3.
