Went to update using my Galaxy Tab S, but it didnt show the banner. Connected my Galaxy S7 and it showed the update, so updated with the S7. It took about 20 min to update with no issues except the app shows 1.7.9 on the S7 and N/A on the Tab S . Strange.
I've read 100's of post about long term storage for the P3S battery, but the controller battery is Lithrum as well and gets overlooked. It deserves the same treatment and should be stored at 2/4 bars for long term storage.
Where are you flying? To get the best range you need to be in a large open area away from any interference eg wifi, phone towers or power lines. I would try this before send it back, as there may be nothing wrong with the bird.
Because we are the land downunder, and we use the 'US satellites', the satellites are actually underneath us, so our drones fly up-side-down. Take off is a *****, just throw it in the air and hope for the best.
Most likely just your video feed, look at the wifi signal on the app. It will only have 1 bar if your lucky. At the same time check your control signal it most likely will still have a couple of bars, meaning although you will have no video feed on your device, and it may even say 'disconnected'...
I had similar issues with my P3S, best advice I can give is to get out to a open area away from houses and power lines and try there. That way you can rule out interference, which was my issue. I got an extra 300m just getting away from wifi interference.
I use a Samsung tab s and have no issues...
Don't know about where you live, but in Australia it is illegal to fly at night. CASA our aviation body can fine us up to $110,000 or lock us up for 6 months for repeat offenders.
By the way that is a really nice image, great lighting.
Well done mate. You must be happy with the results. I'll head off to a headland one day away from wifi and see how I go over water. If I can get 3km again near home I'll be very happy, even 2km will do.
No, video feed was perfect. Went like a dream. Just a good location I guess. Closest town was about 30km away, no powerlines or buildings to be seen.
On the down side it was 4hrs from home.
This seems odd. I got out to the country this week where their was no interference what so ever. Launched the P3S and sent it on its merry way. Got to 3km and still had full video and control strength. I turned and came back. I expected some loss of signal at least with the video feed...
