Video: Fitted my Phantom v1 into a Phantom 2 shell (easy!)

I will, when everything is stable! I'm still suspecting one bad motor (had a crash a year ago and replaced two of them). Too bad the 2212 motors are more expensive then the P2 2312 motors...

Ok, I'll try that. Have to tweak my gains a little, because it's currently not hovering very stable. Final weight with fpv, gopro, h3-2d, iosd and data link should be around 1300 grams. So that should keep it steady by itself ;-)

    Compass location

I had the same question yesterday. In the few articles that I read, concensus seems to be that the compass should be on the back left when looking from the front of the bird. To be honest, I've flown once with the compass on a completely different leg and it felt fine. It's windy here in this...

Did you have any problems with getting the lid on? It seems the gps plug is just scraping the grey gps patch on the top. It does close, but I can see the board go down a tiny bit when I press it down. Can I remove the part of the grey path that is in the way? Or will that damage the gps unit...

    app for 2.4ghz datalink

My feeling is that DJI will end up building more and more out-of-the-box solutions to reach the main public (and the largest market). The 'old' DIY solutions allow for too many combinations that are harder to maintain in the long run. Fixed configurations, like the P1 and I1 are a dream for...

Strange. Does the assistent see the compass? Sorry, no help from me on the escs. Using 1.1.1 escs myself.

I'm using the 2.40 NAZA assistant. Everything shows up correctly. I'll have to check the exact numbers, but it did show the GPS. Also the NAZA and P330 board. GPS is connected to the P2 board and board is connected to the NAZA-M v2. Which NAZA-M firmware are you using? I've updated mine to 4.06...

Heatshrink it is. Shrunk one end a small bit and now it fits like a glove. And you can pull it off easily because the other side is still normal size. M3 is also working, I cut the wire, inserted to pieces of the cable I used to extend the LED and soldered it back together. I tried to put the...

    Soldering doesn't hold

After two attempts I now have a working connection for both VCC and Ground. And both connections feel strong, even without adding hot glue. I still want to add glue and fix the cables somehow. But for now, I can continue connecting and testing on the ground! Thanks for all the help! In the end...

Bingo, the VCC connection looked good to me, but it didn't work. Resoldered it and now it's working! I didn't let the solder flow enough to join it to the board. After all the failed attempts, I didn't want to heat the solder on the board too much, but that was my problem. Now the LED turns on...

I will, and then move up the chain step by step. Neither. When I connect the battery, nothing happens. No lights, no sounds. So I guess it's: a) a problem with my board, b) no power comes to the board. I'll check that tonight.

I'll check that tonight. Motors, except 3, were connected. Naza was connected to gps, x3/ext and x1/x2 two my transmitter. Is it better to pick Vcc and gnd on two different esc's. Or always first check vcc/gnd for each one?

Well, next problem: everything is connected, but it seems the bird does not get power. I've connected a battery to the XT60, but nothing happens. No smoke (thank god) but also no bleeps and the LED is not lighting up. Should there be the power sound I got with the P1? Or does that require some...

I noticed that the person who did the conversion before on this thread cut the ESC cable, inserted two pieces of cable in between and soldered it back together. I think I'll do that, doesn't take much effort and the solder points on the ESC are covered under that white DJI glue. Takes more...

Alright, power cables are re-soldered and should hold. I've soldered them outside the shell and then placed the IPC back into the shell. So that gave some tension on the cables and everything is still fixed. So that looks good. After testing, I'll add some hotglue to the joints, to isolate them...
