I have one of these also. Even though it charges sequentially, it is handy for charging one battery and topping off others prior to an extended flying excursion. I also have an extra DJI charger. My only complaint about this multi unit is the instructions are so vague.

I have stored the phone number of the local sheriff's office in my phone just in the event something like this ever happens to me. My thinking is it would better if I made the first call to the law.

I can usually keep mine in sight up to about 500 meters. After that, if I glance away I might lose it. But if the lighting is right, as others have said, I can keep track of it. If I still have video downlink, I can usually find it by reckoning the video with familiar landmarks.

I feel for ya! My first and only (so far) crash was in a tree in my own yard, from about 20 feet up with my then brand new P3P. Fortunately I had a slightly softer landing. Broke the gimbal arm and the flex cable to the camera. I was able to fix it myself for about $100. That was about 18...

I got my P3P in January 2016. As a newbie I followed instructions and updated the FW at that time. I've not updated it since and I have had absolutely no problems using Go or Litchi.

Seriously, a drone isn't going to get you that much closer to the sun and moon to see an eclipse better. But maybe you could get a better backdrop....

I don't have a theory about the behavior, but I would suggest removing props before performing this type of test in the future.

Ipad mini 2 here. I got a refurb unit for half the original price over a year ago. You might still find them, or the newer minis as well. It fits nicely in the controller mount, and works great with Go and Litchi. I fly a P3P.

About two years ago I told my wife I want to get 'one of those drones'. She said "No way! You don't need one of those!" But a few months later she came home and surprised me with a new P3P, which was DJIs flagship product at the time. I decided to keep her....and the wife, too.
