Can you back up this claim of constraints by US gov't? Lets not use this forum to spread rumors, ok?
They turned off SA years ago, and the US Gov't does not do any to degrade the GPS signal: see http://www.gps.gov/systems/gps/modernization/sa/
I've put my P2V+ on international flights as a checked baggage without any problem. Most airlines will ask that you not check the LiPo batteries, but rather carry them in your carry on bags.
I updated to latest version; no issues. Flies great. Flies long time. Always comes home.
You have to ask yourself one question: if you trusted DJI enough to buy their product, why would you not trust them enough to provide a working update to the software that they wrote in the first place...
That is right, if you assume that the FAA has authority over your drone, then you can not use it to make money. Selling your drone photos of people's houses would violate current FAA regulations, at least as the FAA interprets them.
There is some debate about whether the FAA actually has the...
Welcome. Please refrain from calling your Phantom a 'weapon'. Most of us here are pretty sensitive to bad PR for RC Quads.
Assuming you have a version 2 of the PV2+ (that is, you don't have a small wheel on the top left of your transmitter), then there is two ways to tilt the camera: one is by...
Hello Robert,
the latest software assistant v3.6 has been discussed quite a bit here on the boards.
I have downloaded and used it without any trouble. Others may have had a different experience, but I don't remember seeing anything specific about it being too buggy.
What exactly are you talking about?? I downloaded all my DJI Software directly from DJI, Apple had nothing to do with it. Most of the software on my Apple computer is third party stuff, and none of that came from Apple either.
Apple computers happily communicate with all kinds of stuff. If you...
Bob, if you find that we can replace our old GPS chips in the Phantom with the NEO-7, please start a new thread on that. I've flown in the polar regions, and that is where GLONASS really helps. I would switch my chip in a heartbeat if I knew it would work on my P2V+
No, it will go into "autoland" mode and land where ever it is once the batteries are too low to support continued flight.
IF your Phantom is all set up properly, it should never just fall from the sky. It's programmed to come home and/or land itself before it runs out of juice.
to my mind, the important question is: did you learn a lesson and will you perhaps limit your altitudes in the future. In the USA, most model aircraft pilots adhere to a voluntary height restriction of 400' (122 meters) above ground level, to avoid mixing our aircraft with those above.
It...
