I made the same setup as in the video and had severe vibration problems that hurt my image quality in the go pro. I then took a piece of plastic and drilled four holes to fit the rubber dampers, replaced the camera with my new plastic, and stuck a go pro mount on the plastic. Worked well, great...
I've flown in light rain as well as snow without any ill effects. I didn't spend more than a few minutes flying, but didn't notice any change in flight characteristics. I wouldn't push it too much, but that's been my experience :)
Sometimes I'll sit at my kitchen table with the ipad air connected and fly around my yard and the woods behind my house...definitely a fun thing to do, definitely enhanced by the larger screen...that said, for walking around outside, prob too big.
Maybe for driving around too? (see video below...
Using FCPX:
On this video:
1) I chose my clips and cut them down to size in a roughly edited way
2) "de-fish eyed" them with the free plug-in by Alex4D
3) saved as a master file
4) reimported, cut into the final edit and stabilized the clips that needed it...
Well, I was foolish and got too close to the propellers. I figured I'd share the picture as a warning to us all to be careful. I'm so glad this was me and not someone else, and my arm rather than my face.
Anyone else hurt themselves yet?
Stay safe :)
If you search the logs, this has been addressed here and there, but this is my 2 cents.
I have a couple hero 3's, and using them on a couple adventures is really what prompted me to get the Vision. I'm by no means a professional, and still just learning, but I'm using FCPX with add-ons, etc...
Thanks for the tips.
I just downloaded the trial version of FCP 10.1, and it really feels like a slightly better version of iMovie...
The stabilizer seems to warp my footage too...not liking it so far...more to come.
Your barn video looks great, other than color adjustment, what else did you...
Hey guys, thanks for all you great posts. I pulled the fool's move of drilling my prop guard screws into all four of my motors, and this forum was helpful in figuring out what I did, and then where to find the replacement motors and what kind to get.
I looked through all the previous posts I...
Wow, thanks for the quick reply. Are you thinking the bolt got screwed into the copper coils and sheared them?
Definitely the timing and process both point to the bolts as the culprit, but what is the mechanism?
And of course: do you think i can repair the motors or must replace?
Thanks for...
Hoping someone has an idea here!
I took the Vision to do some spectacular photography today, but when I went to engage the rotors, only the two white blades began spinning and responded to thgrottle. The black blades simply sat and pulsated. Power down, restart, same problem. Of note, I had...
Yes, followed startup with wifi/controller before vision. Had 9 satellites and green before takeoff, within a minute of flying had 12 satellites.
Where can I buy that camera unit?
