How to obtain a commercial license?

Congratulations. I almost feel that every drone operator should get their certificate, even if they have no intention of going commercial. I'm sure many operators have no idea how little they know!

    Silly question, but now what?

I found, after I got mine, that practicing using the P4 simulator in DJIGO at least allowed me to get some practice in using the remote and to learn how to fly in circles around an area and so on. There's plenty of things you can not do with the simulator, but here is zero risk while using it.

    Space Needle drone strike.

The old myth about a coin dropped at high altitude could kill someone, is just that 'a myth' - you can read about the physics of that here Could a Penny Dropped Off a Skyscraper Actually Kill You? However, a drone or drone battery falling on people from that height could be disastrous.

How to obtain a commercial license?

As people have already mentioned there is tons of information out there, but very few sites offer any cohesive, step-by-step course materials. I took the $99 remotepilot101.com course, online which consists of video instruction and short exams... and there is a lot of course material, which...

Friend of a Friend Fined $1800 no registration on drone..i have questions

No, both recreational and professional drone pilots must register their drone(s). The main difference is, that professionals have to register each drone they use and acquire a different number for each, so they pay $5 for each drone. A recreational flyer can purchase one FA number and use it...

Would love to hear what you have in mind?

    I lost it.. :((

He would have a visual of the incident and an approximation of where the incident took place, and quite possibly a report on what the UAS was doing at last visual. Calls to nearby airports could then be placed to notify them of a potential emergency, and in turn, airports could then notify...

I don't lose visual track of my drones, that's for sure.

    I lost it.. :((

Drones stay under 400 feet if the Remote Pilot is following the rules.. and it sounds like a bunch of people don't give a crap. Drones are machines and inclined to so whatever they want to at times, which is somewhat the point of this thread. I wonder how many people have the list of the...

    I lost it.. :((

Use your imagination. Suppose the drone went nuts and started a vertical assent and went up to a couple thousand feet which they are more than capable. Also helicopters are often at low altitude, if only for the benefit of sightseers. The rules have been designed over 100 years of flight, and...

    I lost it.. :((

It's a matter of bragging rights. The same way a speedometer in an automobile may go to 160mph. You don't go above the speed limit even though you can. If we all don't follow the rules, we are screwed.

    I lost it.. :((

So far the restrictions are very reasonable, and when someone finally flies a drone into the engine of a manned craft, you ain't seen nothing yet. The restrictions are very similar to manned aircraft rules, and with people who can't even follow basic rules like keeping the craft in visual line...

    I lost it.. :((

I don't want to seem insensitive, but what are you doing flying 1.8 miles away from home station? There's no way you could have been maintaining visual line of sight. This type of loss is self inflicted in my opinion. There are so few rules to follow for recreational flying.
