I've seen many of cases where updating the firmware to 1.10 or 1.11 caused an ESC error. Rolling back the firmware to an earlier version like 1.09 has seemed to resolve it in many cases. Have you thought about trying to rollback the firmware? This thread is pretty detailed on rollback, but...
