How high have you guys gotten?

My highest flight was 237 meters to video some fireworks, being so close to them, there shouldn't be any helicopters or planes that I would need to worry about, but still good to look out. Regular flights I rarely fly above 120 meters.

What's wrong with my phantom 3 standard!?

So that was footage from a supposed 4k camera... lol

    Shell crack repair method.

A few months ago I had a small crack develop and since I was still under warranty, I didn't want to open it up but didn't want the send it in either since I have already dealt with DJI warranty services twice. I picked up some Bondic and it worked great for patching a crack on the surface of the...

P3S Range Tanking! - Time to be Concerned?

The LED status light on the controller is controlled by what it sees on the 2.4 ghz band. 2.4 ghz is two way, sending commands like taking pictures to the bird and also receiving telemetry and live feed. The 5ghz band is reserved only for control and is one way, the bird does not sent any info...

P3S Range Tanking! - Time to be Concerned?

I wouldn't be surprised if DJI is lowering range on the standard intensionally. Never hear of these issues with more expensive models as stated above. The standard is DJIs cheapest model by far and it's becoming dated so DJI probably wants to encourage some pilots to upgrade.

P3S Range Tanking! - Time to be Concerned?

If you know that the range didn't immediately drop after ANY updates to the phantom or the device you are using to fly, I would be leaning towards a loose connection. You can open the controller easily and look without voiding your warranty, but opening the phantom is a bit more involved.

P3S Range Tanking! - Time to be Concerned?

Per the usual suggestions, try flying somewhere open with no wifi and see what your results are, and make sure your antenna is oriented properly. What is disconnecting first, video or control? It sounds like you were still flying fine after doing the firmware update, correct? I know the...

    Worth Buying??

I would say those look genuine.

    Worth Buying??

The only other thing to do to confirm they are genuine would be looking at the LEDs on the battery. Genuine batteries have a very bright and vibrant green colored lights while I have noticed the fakes are much more dim and have dull green lights. Not saying that no fake batteries will have the...

    I received my vest

I think that in some situations a vest like this would be nice, if you are trying to focus on flying, some people will think you have authority and not bother you while flying. But at the same time, if someone is trying to find the pilot, you couldn't stand out more. I have a park I love to fly...

    Worth Buying??

Those batteries look to be genuine. As far as the reported capacity, I wouldn't bother judging the health of a battery by it. I believe the capacity is just calculated by how much it charged and how much capacity the battery thinks there already was, not a perfect system since many factors can...

Dji go ups version best for 1.5.7 firmware

I wouldn't be surprised if DJI tried to force a firmware update on us, that almost happened when version 3.0 was released and the UI was extremely slow when linked to a standard with the 1.5.7 firmware. I used the video someone posted here and was able to downgrade until DJI patched it. DJI can...

Dji go ups version best for 1.5.7 firmware

1.5.7 with the latest version of go for over a year now. Easily over a mile with a cheap antenna upgrade and never an issue.

A little help on what to charge?

You're the first person I have heard say that. I don't consider myself any type of pro even though I own a drone and neither do many other hobbyists. Maybe some people have a background with cameras that we don't know?

Sad day of the flipping Phantom

If you saw a prop fly off, that is more than likely the reason for flipping. I would NEVER trust the phantom to tighten the props for me, I spin mine down all the way, then grip the motor and twist it on firmly. Never use the tool to hold the motor since you will likely over-tighten and strip...
