Talk about a very specific use of a drone. I am going to go out on a limb here and guess this is not something that was given serious thought at the R&D sessions at DJI when they were designing this foldable drone.
I will be a mavic user, and I am 100% interested in the functionality. I have no vested interest in Android, so it isn't anything to me for that aspect. I bought the Mavic for video and photo. we shoot a decent amount of geurilla shots, and something the Mavic's size is perfect. Between...
I have had the same thoughts, as I got the Mavic to use while riding as well, though I think the speed will be the determining factor. With a top speed in Sport Mode at 40 mph, and no auto tracking in sport mode, you would be hard pressed to keep up with a motorcycle. Trees, coverage, quick...
I have been watching for Autopilot to come ut for the Mavic as well. I am sure it is just a matter of time, considering the brains of the P4 and Mavic are basically the same.
Standard one with the bundle.
Not released yet, but I imagine you can get all from DJI or resellers. But with the advanced, you will need to ALSO buy the P4 power adapter to power it for the faster charge times.
Not covering water damage is NO surprise... It is rare if any piece of electronics is covered for water damage. This is no different from an iPhone or Computer or other drones. It comes down to common sense (which seems to be litigated to the nth degree anymore) not to take the chance, or...
The footage Casey linked has already been refuted all over the place (including by himself the same day he posted it). That is NOT a representation of the Mavic. He caused more harm than good when he posted that.
It is nothing to focus - just tap the screen on the phone on a far out object...
There is no manual to read yet. Which bites, I wanna read it, memorize it, and want a DJI Go mode for testing (that doesn't rely on it being connected to a drone.)

And the OP was referring to a Mavic, not P3. Just because something works on old (in this case) tech doesnt mean it translated to new tech. Especially when there are so many documented cases of it NOT working.
