Update:
GREAT NEWS! After spending over a week reviewing my flight record, DJI confirmed it was not due to user error and in fact a malfunction in the drone, so they are replacing my Phantom 3 at no charge. Very happy with how all this turned out especially considering how bummed I was a few...
Tim5168 - sorry to hear that. Best o can suggest is report it to DJI. They'll ask for your flight records and if it's deemed a hardware malfunction they'll pass it on to another department who will determine if you qualify for a replacement (assuming you're under warranty or have DJI care)...
Marknmd - I don't think so. In the footage I can "see" the drone falling out of control before the screen goes black.

Ferraript - thanks for the input. They're closed till Monday so I'll send them an email and see if they ask me to send it in. I may try to power it on tomorrow morning as well to maybe asses the damage a bit. I was pretty bummed today but I'm glad to see people agree it this was definitely out...
I'll give that a shot. Although the casing seems a bit difficult to remove. Hopefully it still works. I'm guessing it'll still need to go to DJI but fingers are crossed

Alokbhargava - I'm going to wait till tomorrow to check it, to make sure it's dry. But I'll give that a shot...
Wibble - I have footage of the crash, I checked it slowly to see if maybe a bird threw it off course. I didn't see it there, but maybe a big enough bird can cause that?
Reed - yea...
Hey Guys! I would really love a little guidance on what my next steps should be after this crash.
In a nutshell: I was flying along side a creek with no issues and out of the blue the phantom starts spinning wildly, as if it ran into something, and plummeted about 150ft into a very narrow...
After a Crash i was unable to sync my RC to the Drone. The drone was constantly trying to update it's firmware even though it was on the latest version. So I believe it was "bricked" somehow. I'm not sure what steps DJI took to resolve this.
For those of you who have been hesitant on sending your damaged Phantom to DJI, I was in the same boat. However it got to the point where I had no other choice. I begrudgingly sent it to California and was extremely impressed with their turnaround. Here are the sequence of events:
As you can...
Well that was fast.... I don't have the Phantom yet but it is already on it's way, Tracking number provided. Very impressed with DJI, only a 1 week turnaround which was unexpected after all the horror stories I've heard:
Update:
So far I am very surprised by how Quickly DJI has responded. Here are the sequence of events so far:
Now we will see how long it takes them to ship it back.
Well DJI sent me a shipping label and have been quick to respond so I ended up just shipping it to them. I didn't want to risk paying someone else a fee when they can't fix it, didn't want to risk it. They got it yesterday morning so we'll see how long it takes. I'll keep you guys posted...
They're telling me 2-3 weeks MAX that they'll get to it. Then add on however long it takes for repairs and shipping back. My guess is 4-6 weeks total.
I'll update this post when I get it back.

Got it. I'll send those 2 then. Sucks about your P3P too. Mine no longer syncs with the RC due to a corrupt firmware that no local hobby shops can't fix.
Thanks for the info. Good luck with yours.

Hey Guys just a quick question.
I'm getting ready to ship my P3 to DJI for repairs. I couldn't get a clear answer on what i need to send to them aside from the drone itself. Do I include the RC, SD card, battery or anything else?
I'm going to put it in the original DJI box, and then put that...
