One worry to consider with the current Mavic is the electronic shutter versus the mechanical shutter. There will be distortion if the craft is moving - the advantage of a mechanical shutter.
One worry I have is I usually set my control device on the RC to Airplane Mode so that incoming events can’t interrupt my flight. Would that interfere with this configuration?
I paid $1350 for mine 2 months ago through B&H Photo. If the v2.0 is available, and you plan to use it for commercial, it’s definitely better than a v1.
Amateur Radio has been self policing almost since the beginning. When CB radio was totally out of control, HAM radio was a sane place to operate. Education through self-policing does work.
The justification is the possibility of a bomb in the model that is triggered when the battery is removed. Has that ever happened before? I don’t remember that in the news.
Also, I don’t think it’s a good idea to have the guard installed with the drone powered up! You can damage the gimbal because ‘start up’ runs the gimbal through some movements. Remove the gimbal guard before starting your drone, then no interference.
I’ve talked to a couple of Enterprise dealers that say the P4Pv2 is discontinued - not quite the same as obsolete. It’ll continue to be supported for a while. I also heard that the P4P components have been diverted to support the P4-RTK. Which is probably causing the parts shortage for v2’s.
