Drones in State Parks (illegal? yes or no)

I would go to talk to the head park ranger if I were you and personally ask him. If it'll make him feel better, put prop guards on and ask him to come supervise the shoot. If the park isn't too large, you might be able take off from outside park property and do the shoot but that might be risky...

Windsurf Antenna Copper or Aluminum Foil tape

Hey guys, I'm considering buying one of these windsurfer's to get a little more distance. I'm noticing there are a couple different options. Looks like they have some with reflective tape for about $10-$12. Some even come in copper. They also make some with real aluminum that has no bump...

    Phantom as carry on luggage

Nothing out of the ordinary. You will have to bring it onboard as a carry-on. Due to the Lipo's it can't go in checked luggage. When I sent my backpack through the checkpoint in Nashville, I unzipped it & opened it up to show what it was & that I had nothing to hide. I don't really think it...

Drones in State Parks (illegal? yes or no)

NATIONAL parks are PROHIBITED. However, I have a friend who’s a park ranger at Narrows of the Harpeth STATE park but I wanted to ask him about flying in Montgomery Bell State Park in Dickson, TN. He did say that it’s illegal but that Senior Park Ranger Pat Wright might possibly grant me...

    Phantom as carry on luggage

ViperNuke just answered my curious question about the number of batteries you can take. I'm flying to FL in the morning and planning on taking 3 batteries with my P3P. My plan is to conceal one in the aircraft and 2 in the backpack battery compartments unless someone advises me that one in the...

PHANTOM EMERGENCY FLOTATION FOR A DIME (redux)

Definitely! It'll be hard to attach anything to the landing gear & it not be seen in the shots except maybe for the bag idea. My only concern is hoping the bags stay inflated (especially upon impact with the water) & clear of the props.

PHANTOM EMERGENCY FLOTATION FOR A DIME (redux)

These are cool but ridiculously over priced!!! $137 for ONE!!! No thanks, I'll stick with Ziploc bags or pool noodle idea. Argo Drone - floating DJI Phantom by LCdesign on Shapeways

PHANTOM EMERGENCY FLOTATION FOR A DIME (redux)

Pretty cool idea CapnBob! I leave for FL Sat morning and I'm sure I'll be over some water at some point so this little inexpensive trick might just come in handy! I do have crash insurance but I will need recover it if in fact she takes a swim! I do have a question though. I know that after...
