How reliable is the return home function if signal is lost?

Thanks y'all. You've restored my confidence in the RTH. It must be just the 1-in-a-thousand people that are making a lot of noise about them losing contact and having their drone go rogue.

How reliable is the return home function if signal is lost?

When you are all saying RTH works well - are you meaning in instances that I was referring to? (when contact is lost with the controller) Or do you mean when in instances where the operator SELECTS return to home.

How reliable is the return home function if signal is lost?

Thanks. I wasn't sure if it also used WiFi on top of the Lightbridge (as wifi will bounce around/through objects pretty well, within a short range). Off topic again: Can you shoot a full-res photo WHILE recording video? Doing a google search brought me to a P2 thread on here which said 'no'...

How reliable is the return home function if signal is lost?

I trust the RTH function works well if it's initiated by the operator - but have there been any issues (that I should be concerned with) with it not returning home if it loses its connection with the controller? Another question: Is a clear line of sight -desperately- needed all the time, or...

P3 Firmware Latest firmware for Canada: maximum height enforced?

Awesome replies and links. TY! Wow, our regional airport isn't even listed on that map - good stuff! I'm in southern Ontario (Canada) in the Niagara region. So it looks like open skies for me here, and up on Georgian Bay at the cottage! And yes, all my flying will be fun/hobby flying.

How reliable is the return home function if signal is lost?

The place I'll be flying it most is dense with trees - I have an open spot, and will take it up from there, but will be flying out over some trees. In the event the line of sight is lost, how reliable is it to return home if the signal is lost? After reading some threads on here, it seems...

P3 Firmware Latest firmware for Canada: maximum height enforced?

Yes I know the restriction has been on paper for a long time - I just wanted to make sure that the Phantom doesn't have it in the software. Although I'm sure it's just a matter of time before Transport Canada makes it law that future firmwares restrict the devices in software.

    Hello from Toronto Canada

Do we need a UAV flying license in Canada? People in this thread seem to think so: Advanced - Flying in Canada I was all ready to go down to Best Buy tomorrow to get a P3P until I saw that.

P3 Firmware Latest firmware for Canada: maximum height enforced?

According to Canadian law, you're not 'legally' allowed to go above 300ft. Does anyone know if firmware updates actually limit this in Canada? (Gawd I hope not - I'm planning on buying one tomorrow unless I hear otherwise) re: Flying your drone safely and legally - Transport Canada
