Hi there. I'm 75 and have had the 107 for two years. Study, read and have someone ask you questions from your study material. Don't let your age and testing inexperience hinder you. Go for it!! The reward is great. When you pass the test, you get "bragging rights". Good luck.
One more thing. Notice my Drone to the left here. I painted the two forward prop guards red so that when I want to go forward I can see up in the sky that its going to go in the direction of the red painted prop guards.
Absolutely NOT retire. I'm 75 and do real estate with my P3P as a FAA Licenced Commercial Drone Operator 107. Last year I flew 131 flights at $270 per flight. It's great beer money. I have a hood also. Final option for you is to get into the shade and manage your flight from there. That's the...
Hi There...from Minnesota...you are in the ball park with prices, but I think you should forget about counting the images and just photograph the house. It will be easier to just do the house and concentrate on your performance rather than how many you have taken so far. Raise your prices so...
Hi There...from Minnesota...I say get your Drone and follow the rules. There will be jobs that are outside the legal limints of an airport, so go and photograph those real estate assignments and become the "go to guy" for aerial photography. It's very lucrative. Happy and safe flying.
Hi there...I photograph houses all the time. I think the key to your conversation is to have your Realtor prep the people by explaining what THEY have to do to make it presentable for their online presence. Within reason, I will remove items to make it better, but if all of a sudden I feel that...
Hi There...there is an app called "Verify"...its an insurance app for the drone. You click on it "get insured" and for an hour of $1M insurance it costs $10
Macro man....I did what you said to do. I got a winter jacket and a summer vest and put on them the lettering in red that said
"FAA Licensed Commercial Drone Operator". When I say your first post about doing this my was being made. Thanks for verification
that this was a great ides.
And Marco Polo has to (should) take off the "dog" icon and put a drone icon in it's software...it would feel better for those of us with a drone and not a dog.
I just bought a Marco Polo after some research. I think all is good. My only suggestion to the Marco Polo people is to have an easier on/off switch for the receiver that goes on the drone.
The person operating the drone was truly not aware of or not complying with the rules set by the FAA. It reads "500 feet from non-participating people and from buildings". It's just that simple. I'm sure we will hear about what the FAA is going to give that operator as a fine when they find him...
DJI should revamp their procedures of new firmware updates...more announcements and for SURE make the actual upgrading of the firmware by all of us a MUCH easier process. Make it happen with single clicks of the mouse.
Well...Jason....looks like I am going to become your student with all these great reviews on you. Keep up the great work and I will come to class after Christmas.
