I'm just getting back into flying after putting my P3 into storage last fall and moving cross country. CP usually refers to a circular polarizer. I may have tested a few last fall, but I don't have any data and can not provide recommendations.

Any reports on the new 2.8.4 Android Go App ?

I'll be a guinea pig if they let me. The current version worked fine on the Android Nougat Beta (7.0), but crashed constantly yesterday with Nougat Final. Edit - this is on my Pixel C tablet

help required dropping a camera off with drone

How long is the pour going to take? If it's only about an hour then I would just park the phantom on the ledge and use it to either record lower res video or set the camera to take a picture every 10 or 20 seconds for a time lapse effect. When the pour is done just take off and land below. If...

    Montana

I just returned to the Billings area. I was a bit surprised to see that the entire city is surrounded by "airports" blanketing everything in the 5 mile circles. I'm currently in the Blue creek area but moving to the far west end (rimrock, molt road) in a month. I do most of my flying at the...

    Max Size of micro SD

The P3 will format cards larger than 32GB as exFAT, which does not have the 4GB file limitation. That said there is a firmware limitation that splits the files regardless of the file system.

DMV, DC / Maryland / Virginia

Navin I live on the edge of Reston Town Center, when I saw your photo I wondered if someone had copied one of mine! I have had no problems flying in and around several of the parks and lakes around here, but I only fly when they are quiet. There are several parks in the area that are owned by...

NEW Product: Drone Crates Phantom 3 Backpack (Discount Inside)

Beautiful design and great looking pack. I can't justify replacing my hardshell, but wish I could.

P3 Motor failure, caught during preflight

I've got plenty of soldering experience, since at least the mid eighties. My only concern is warranty.

P3 Motor failure, caught during preflight

I agree DroneNerds is awesome. Technically I purchased the P3P from them and a few batteries, so they are my second choice for repair.

How long did your update take

1.3.20 took a solid twenty minutes on my stopwatch. I was really glad I was out at the ranch and able to do it in the shop so I wasn't torturing the family with the DDDD-DDDD-

P3 Motor failure, caught during preflight

My dealer is new, Expertdrones.com in Virginia, but they now have a kiosk at a local mall and claim to do authorized repairs. I'll give them a call. I don't mind replacing the motor myself, but dread the potential warranty issues.

Who's been flying with new Firmware and Go App

1.3.20 has been great for me. Longest flight was over 32,000 feet mileage with a maximum distance around 2 miles bone stock before video started failing. Update was the longest so far at 20 minutes on my stopwatch.

P3 Motor failure, caught during preflight

I guess one advantage of the backpack and taking my rotors on an off is I get an opportunity to touch and test the motors every day. Putting on the rotors today one was very stiff and did not spin normally, trying to spin by hand gave me a chunky sound an obvious resistance, possibly similar...

MicroSD card testing for photography, 5 shot AEB

That is some interesting test data and it's really good to see some results from the P3A to contrast with the P3P. To integrate this with other results though, we need some control data: What Firmware and application version are you using? Can you provide more specific model information or...

    Long exposures for night photos

DJI_0591 by ctp posted Aug 2, 2015 at 10:42 PM I was goofing off at my family's ranch in Central Montana last week and was really shocked at how well this 8 second exposure came out. Photo was taken about 2 hours after sunset from ~200 feet AGL. The P3 was directly over me and there was no...
