    FAA to Test "Drone Zappers"

Looks like the FAA's Pathfinder Program is looking to do a lot more than just detection of UAVs near airports. They're testing systems that will detect, track and (effectively) shoot them down, all within 8-15 seconds. Radio World: FAA to Test Drone Zappers Shouldn't be a problem for those of...

How much load can the Phantom 2 carry?

There is some really good empirical data in this post: http://www.phantompilots.com/threads/flying-at-high-density-altitude.47132/#post-455124

Missed an awesome flight this weekend, grr

I did a quick search and found this... >> Just in case some folks don't know, Loctite #425 is what you want to use. It's more expensive than most other formulations, but isn't as expensive and time consuming as replacing a shell. <<

Missed an awesome flight this weekend, grr

Be SUPER CAREFUL using Loctite anywhere near your quad. I learned the hard way that the Loctite brand blue dissolves the plastic in the Phantom. It doesn't make it gooey or sticky but instead somehow causes it to break down, almost turning into a coarse powder. I had to replace the entire shell...

We've got a bunch of nesting eagles and Ospreys around Grand Lake... I am VERY careful to pay attention to where the aeries are and stay far away from them. I can just see it now... sitting in handcuffs because an eagle attacked my quadcopter and was injured and of course I am responsible for...

An altitude of 500 feet above the surface, except over open water or sparsely populated areas. In those cases, the aircraft may...

    Flying at High Density Altitude

Most of my flying is at 8,500 AMSL or higher here in the mountains of Colorado, some of it on relatively hot days (80s) when the density altitude is upwards of 11,000 feet. No issues observed so far, even in a fair wind. I really can't tell the difference between flying here and at lower...

Do you let other people fly your bird?

I let my son-in-law fly it. Of course I was standing right next to him. Armed.
