Just thought I'd post my first experiences with the P2V+.
I've had it for about a month now and have had about 4 or 5 small crashes, from about 5 feet up in the air. I wasn't sure what triggered those crashes -- I was flying the P2V+ very low (5 feet!) and inbetween houses and...
You'd need a different gimbal. It's not designed for weights different than the stock camera. But with a more robust gimbal you could mount a heavier camera without any problems. But you'd be erasing the reason to have a P2V+, as the bulk of the cost is the gimbal and camera.
What lens would you want to put on your mirrorless body? I think the stock camera is quite nice. It's got its issues, but they're nothing that can't be dealt with. It would be wonderful to have a super-telephoto lens at over 20 megapixels... but super-telephoto lenses are big and heavy...
I don't have any first-hand experience but from looking around at the aftermarket props, it seems like they tend to be made of more rigid material and some are lighter. Both aid in performance provided you don't crash. The softer (stock) props can handle crashes quite well. I've had about 4...
Okay, it appears can-utils in Linux is understanding a little of the USB connection. I don't know much about CAN and CANbuses, though. Epsilon progress is better than nothing.
I did a quick search for previous threads on this topic but wasn't able to find any -- nor did I have many good ideas to search for. If anyone can point out previous threads on the topic, that would be great.
