Reckless endangerment - state of things to come?

In many Canadian municipalities the Parks departments already have bylaws prohibiting RC aircraft. It is an illegal activity. So if an accident happens insurance won't even cover you.

Reckless endangerment - state of things to come?

In the past the model aircraft industry has generally been associated with people flying their machines with a few of their buddies on some remote piece of land outside of the city limits and away from the general populous. The hobby, although reasonably popular, was never what one would call...

Video quality options? (Not size or fps)

Agreed. The PV2+ is a great all in one platform and it looks like it would encourage the creativity process. I hate wrestling with tools when I really want to concentrate on the art and the PV2+ looks like it gets you past the tools to be creative. The main issue I struggle with is the quality...

Video quality options? (Not size or fps)

I have been asking similar questions before I lay down the coin for a P2V+. I played with a wavelet processor and reduced the amount of unsharp masking in a video that another member posted. Not having to play with unsharpening in post would be so much nicer. I hope someone takes you up on your...

    New Phantom + video issues-Help!

It does look like there is something off Jeff with the Jello. I think you have explained the issue with the exposure shift as the device being in Auto. That sounds about right. You would be best to keep a non-auto setting if a constant exposure is what you desire. But the jumpy video is another...

    Does Sharpness:Soft mean none?

I'm reading the Vision Plus user manual (before I purchase my bird) and came across the Sharpness function. Does anyone know if the value of "Soft" means that the onboard software does not apply unsharp masking to the images and video or if it applies a smaller amount only? clark

Very nice. Smooth pans, nice lighting. Good job.

Problem with the Plus' cameras ....

Interesting. I would have thought that the shake would have made the compression artifacts much worse. I wonder if the gimbal is now allowing you to see the imaging issues that were there all along with the P2V?

Problem with the Plus' cameras ....

The GoPro is a much better video platform to the Vision Plus for sure. Bitrate, resolution, flexibility to which the vision camera cannot match. But the all-in-one package of the vision plus is so handy. It makes me wonder if careful planning of the scene being video'd would allow for only one...

GoPro like video from a vision?

Thanks Phil. I believe I understand what you are seeing and the reasons for your choice. I probably should have been more specific about what I was asking with my original question. I think DJI is processing the video the way that they do for a number of reasons. First: they are probably trying...

GoPro like video from a vision?

No I don't think so Jayson. DJI definitely sharpens the video before it is written to disc regardless of the levels of light. You can see the effects of the unsharp masking by looking at high contrast areas of the video. Zoom the image and you will notice light halos around people, cars, etc...

GoPro like video from a vision?

I have played around with a video posted here a few days ago and I would really appreciate opinions as to whether the extra processing is worth it or not. The first video is essentially a small portion of the raw mp4. The second has been slightly processed with an iteration of wavelet to remove...

GoPro like video from a vision?

Does anyone have any video editing techniques to make the vision video look more like the gopro? People like to mod the phantoms to provide more distance etc, and now I see people putting different lenses on them to reduce optical effects. What post-processing software do people use?
