    Pro vs Adv 2.7k video

I frankly can't tell the difference between my P3P and my P3A at 2.7k. I don't have a device that can display 4K though so it is probably just be me. Living in Arizona I have an abundance of bright even harsh light year round. I suspect your lower quality is in part due to the low light. It...

    Parabolic antenna boosters: worth it?

Night and day difference for me. I made my own.

What version of DJI go do I need to remove height limit.

I do this routinely with my P3 (example below flying about 2800 feet up). You have to have firmware version 1.3.2 or earlier and use Litchi 2.3.1 or earlier.

    Max operating temp?

I do. It is my standard equipment when I'm out in the desert. Works brilliantly, but isn't something I would want to be found in my a stray hiker.

    Regrets

I have both. I use the Advanced the most. I don't have a single device that can display 4K. For me it is wasted resolution that just fills up my hard drive. The flying performance is identical between the two. The 2.7K of the Advanced is great and indistinguishable from the 4K on anything I...

    Max operating temp?

I would routinely fly up to about 40C (104F) in the summer and once or twice I flew with temps above that. Batteries get very hot as do the motors. Performance didn't seem to suffer any, but I wonder about longevity, especially the batteries. In the summer here in Phoenix I was usually forced...

    P3A Range Issue

Yes. Open desert is next best. Clean line of sight is SO important. Trees eat radio signals for lunch and WiFi routers are blasting out competing signals that to the P3 is just noise. And when that noise is right below the P3 while your transmitter is a mile away you can't compete.

    P3A Range Issue

If the Windsurfer didn't help, my guess is you are flying in an area of high interference. To get really long ranges you also need clean line of sight. Any tree or building in the way will seriously cut the range. When I fly in town I get around 2000 feet thanks to all the WiFi routers in...

    DJI 3 Pro Height Limit

Maintaining full control of the aircraft is critical when pushing the limit (anytime it is flying actually). Intentionally cutting power just to see if it was possible to recover in time is totally reckless and I would bet would end up with the P3 hitting the ground at terminal velocity.

    DJI 3 Pro Height Limit

You can keep below 400 feet above the ground while going over 500 meters from your launch point by flying over mountains. Using older firmware (1.3.2) and older Litchi (2.3.1) I do fly over the 500m limit with my P3. But I see no point unless doing something like the video below where I went...

Phantom / Battery Firmware mismatch OK?

I didn't do it. I'm working off the idea that if it isn't broken, don't fix it. I have hundreds of flights with the current firmware and only occasionally have a premature alert to RTH that I override. I don't want to introduce potential other problems and have to test using dozens of flights...

2800 feet up and 2 miles out... P3 torture test

Cool video! I have flown from that exact same parking lot in the Lost Dutchman State Park. The Superstitions are the best example of why the 500 meter limit sucks. I have always wanted to fly Camelback as I hike it a few times a year. But I got scared away from warning from others that it is...

2800 feet up and 2 miles out... P3 torture test

The problem is that DJI set the limit in the firmware after the 1.3.2 so it isn't possible to work around it unless you can get the older firmware. I'm running DJI firmware 1.3.2 and Litchi 2.3.1 to get over 500 meters.

2800 feet up and 2 miles out... P3 torture test

Actually no. It was 2829 feet above take off, not sea level. The summit is over 5000 feet above sea level and I started at 2200 feet above sea level. I got around the 500 meter limit by using older firmware and an older version of Litchi that did not impose an altitude limit. You really do...

Climbers on the "Praying Monk" Phoenix, AZ

Very cool! I'm always afraid to fly around Camelback mountain because I have heard you can get into trouble.
