I sure hope not either. I did have to send it in from the get-go because I was one of those who couldn't activate. So they did do a full inspection of it before they sent it back to me. I'll keep my fingers crossed. If I do have to send it in, I'm sure I may have some explaining to do. ;)

Rarely. I did use it to do a panorama shot so I could put it on facebook. That worked out fine though there was more drifting than I liked, but that could've been due to the relatively windy conditions. I think the focus feature is something I'd want to play with especially for the selfie...

@Great_Lakes, if you look at the previous posts you will know that internet connection is not the problem. Of course that is one of the first things we would check. Believe me those with this issue in this thread have tried everything short of returning the drone to DJI.

Brian, what do you mean track it? You can obviously track the UPS truck. Then you should get an email from DJI once they receive it. It takes 1 day just to unpack it and put it in their systems. So the next business day, they will send you multiple emails in terms of the stage or repair...

To Coltpeacemaker and Pgitug, glad those links/video helped you, but if you are on this thread, then you should know that those of us that have had problems have tried everything by the book and all the "tricks" to get our Phantoms to activate. The simple instructions on your links would not...

I received my P3A back from DJI. They packaged it nicely. When I connected it to my phone, it didn't even ask me to activate anymore, they must've done that for me based on the email I supplied. So I was able to immediately go to the camera view. I was able to turn on the motors as well...

Just manufacturer. And I told them that I bought from ebay and from a regular seller, not an authorized dealer. Like I mentioned, the only receipt I included with my drone was the one from paypal.

Brian, the great thing is, they are not charging me! So relieved! I am scheduled to receive it this coming Tuesday (12/13) and I will post an update letting you guys know if it could activate. During their repair process, they are supposed to even do a test flight and quality control, but...

You may have to send it in for repair. DJI received my repair on Friday, and today, they supposedly fixed the issue and will be shipping it back to me tomorrow. That was pretty fast and it was covered under warranty. Hopefully it really is fixed and I will be able to activate it.

@brian3180, that did not work, the DJI GO app just takes me back to the Activation process then gives the same error.

OK guys I tried the Litchi app. It's a no go. The motors will not turn on. I don't get the annoying activate screen so I can actually see the camera view, the satellites, everything, it just won't take off. They told me I could ask for a refund, but I might just keep the app.

@brian3180, I wonder if say, new out of the box, you could straight out use the Litchi app? Or like you are inferring if the Litchi app will say to activate it first with the DJI GO app.
