    "Wobbly" bird and video

Thanks for the reply. When I started looking into this, I actually found that thread. I did several imu calibrations with more and more cards. I didn't see any change, so I went back to original.

    "Wobbly" bird and video

I have had my P2V for 8 months or so. I am really enjoying it and getting some pretty good video. I have crashed it several :) times but it always seems to come through OK. One thing that is bothering me, however, is that the bird (and therefore the video) is not very stable....ever. I have...

    FREE FC200 Gimbal availible !

OK, so I am wondering.....Can anyone point me to a step-by-step, part by part sequence? How do I put this together with the motors and wires, etc? How do I make it work with my P2V controller or app? I have a friend with a 3D printer and I am going to have him make this. Just don't know what...

Flying over a commercial ship leaving Port? Legal or not in US?

LOL! Was wondering if anyone was going to ask me about THAT! I figure I have a file 6" thick at DHS and CIA. I use that handle all over the net. Simple: Childhood nickname=Bomber Address at the first place I had when Al Gore invented the internet=1712 That's the story!

Flying over a commercial ship leaving Port? Legal or not in US?

@RichWest I have been communicating with the USCG. They are the ones who initially told me that "it will trigger a significant law enforcement response". In a second conversation with a different USCG official (a Lt.), the story was similar. The second person told me that it is NOT illegal...

    Phantom 2 firmware update 3.14

I'm not saying it did or did not have anything to do with the firmware update, but when I was flying at his house a couple of weeks earlier (prior to the upgrade), under roughly the same conditions, we tested with a max speed of 34 MPH. Just sayin'! :-)

    Phantom 2 firmware update 3.14

I ran the update, just because I update firmware on things. That's what I do. I was flying the other night and a buddy asked how fast it can go. I sent it out, into the wind, as fast as I could. Then, brought it back to me, with the wind, as fast as I could. Top speed, with the wind, 48.2 MPH.

Flying over a commercial ship leaving Port? Legal or not in US?

I really appreciate all of the input. Here is what I found out today. I called the US Coast Guard. They confirmed that it is NOT illegal to fly over and around commercial ships entering or leaving the harbor. HOWEVER, there is a protocol that suggests any "Suspicious Activity" be reported to...

Flying over a commercial ship leaving Port? Legal or not in US?

Yes, I am talking about container ships - last 3 in Port: 1. Dry Bulk cement, 2. Diesel Fuel, 3. High Fusion Coal Now you have me re-thinking my stance....Anyone else?

My "Crash" Video - My P2V is one tough cookie!

I was very lucky with this whole flight. I seem to be prone to crashes, as this weekend I put it into a tree about 70 feet off the ground! It got stuck in the tree at the very top. Had to send my boys up the tree and "engineered" an extension to reach that high. In the end, my Phantom...

Flying over a commercial ship leaving Port? Legal or not in US?

Thanks to all for the replies! @maxwell smart very nice video and YES, exactly like that. I am in the same camp as @Bluethundr and @rrmccabe - Public area, public waters, public (non-restricted) airspace. As an update, I heard from another person at the Port. He was not at all sure there...

Flying over a commercial ship leaving Port? Legal or not in US?

I called the local port authority today to make sure I would not get in any trouble if I flew my Phantom 2 Vision over and around a commercial ship that will be leaving Port. I was VERY surprised when they told me that I cannot do this without the express, written consent of the owner of the...

My "Crash" Video - My P2V is one tough cookie!

I ran into a little problem while running an autonomous flight. I am not sure why, but I don't think my P2V ever got to the programmed height of 100 ft. That was problem #1. You'll note that after it hits the building, it actually climbs to what I believe is the correct height. I'm not sure...

Thinking about your first Phantom? I was too!

Point taken! I have been (I think) pretty cautious, even though I feel as though I have pretty good control. I mentioned that I have found myself to be a much better pilot when I have considerable room to make an error and correct before I run into any major issues. I will continue to work in...

Thinking about your first Phantom? I was too!

Hi all! I am a brand new member here on the board and a complete Phantom newbie (Quadcopter of any kind, actually). I am making this post in the hopes of helping someone out there in making the decision to jump into this AWESOME world! My background: I am a 40 something Midwesterner and a...
