I just joined the "early adopter" crowd and ordered mine direct from DJI. No shipping date yet :(

From the DJI site: Mobile Device Size Thickness Supported:6.5-8.5mm Max length: 160mm Supported USB port types: Lightning, Micro USB(Type-B),USB(Type-C)™ So... as long as your phone is not longer than 160mm it should fit, at least that's how I interpret that.

I experienced something very similar. I was ready to send it to a repair facility but after doing an advanced IMU calibration is seemed to start working ok again. Now it is flying normally again (thankfully!)
