I have done the same thing with the same result. They realize you cannot "spy" on people with the thing, but can see beauty.

My first was a Phantom 1 shortly after they were introduced. I took it 1000 miles from home to fly it there, forgot to recalibrate the compass, and it flew away. I got another one immediately, and it has flown flawlessly ever since. And I have not forgotten to recalibrate.

I had a flyaway while using only 4 NIMH. I think the cause was not recalibrating the compass when I should have, but I don't want to take any chances with the replacement.

I have seen several advertisements for holders for extra batteries on the Phantom; as many as 2 extra. Also for external holders for 3300maH batteries. Are these effective, or does the extra weight just use up the extra energy?
