Anybody successfully disassembled a Garmin GTU 10?

I can save the weight of the housing and attach a lighter battery. I plan to solder a USB extension cable for easy charging access.

Anybody successfully disassembled a Garmin GTU 10?

I have a Garmin GTU 10 that I would like to disassemble and mount inside my Phantom. Has anybody managed to get the thing apart without breaking it? I've tried using a narrow flathead screwdriver as a lever but the thing won't budget -- I'm worried it is epoxied shut. Would appreciate any advice...

Thanks all for the explanations and suggestions.

How about a drone with sensors

If you could maintain a uniform distance from an object, that would be awesome not just for crash avoidance but also for photography/videography.

Possible to Convert Phantom to 5.8 GHz?

A common complaint about the Phantom's use of the 2.4 GHz spectrum is that it crowd's wifi and prohibits use of the GoPro remote and other 802.11 interopability. The common workaround is to use a 5.8 GHz FPV system. I was wondering if it's reasonably feasible instead to modify or replace the...

Failed Compass Calibration - Cannot Fly

The numbers didn't fluctuate at all. I tried the magnet trick to no avail. One step from giving up and sending it back, I decided to try flicking the compass module really hard with my finger to try to knock anything that may have gotten stuck. To my surprise it did the trick and the values...

    Site suggestion: target="_blank"

Command+click also works on Mac. I find that the most preferable way to browse because the user has full control over where he/she wants the link to open.

    4.2 Woes, please, please help.

I had the same problem as the OP after upgrading to 4.0.2. My compass measurements were static -- no matter how I moved the thing they wouldn't change in NAZA and were way out of calibration. I worried that when I did the magnet trick I might have actually broken the thing. I kept at it...

Failed Compass Calibration - Cannot Fly

Apparently even when the compass is completely disconnected, it recognizes horizontal calibration but not vertical calibration so that's obviously a red herring. Seems I got a defective unit. Does anybody know a better way to contact DJI than their web site contact form? I would really like to...

Failed Compass Calibration - Cannot Fly

I'm having trouble calibrating my compass. My values are way out of whack but they never change even when I put a magnet near it. Is there anything else I can try? This is what I get regardless of position/magnet proximity: This is new out of the box, so no flight time, crashes, etc.
