    Props crash

Sounds like my ex wife. lol Nino, every flight is a gamble. Each of us make our own choices. Many are concerned about props after impacts of any sort, because there can easily be unseen damage elsewhere. Much like if you tripped and fell, and we look only at your stubbed toe, ingoring a big...

    Howto use battery discharge feature

That's exactly what I'm thinking. Sounds potentially dangerous, for an automated procedure. Still find it surprising to learn that 48 hours is considered "an extended period." Gee, here is an idea. Why not make a charger which can easily accommodate all the variables with a touch of button...

    Howto use battery discharge feature

48 hours! That's an "extended period"? That is going to end up wasting changing cycles/battery lifespan, isn't it? What load will the battery use to dissipate stored energy? Simply turn itself on? Dissipating 25 amps of energy has the potential to go very wrong, especially if it's...

    3.08 Discussion Thread for P2NV / P2Z

Yes, Phantom 2 with an H3-3D. The reset revived it from lifelessness. Had the problem you mention on a previous 3D. The thing that helped the most was to balance the gimbal and camera. I theorize that the gimbal shuts down at a certain current draw level, and when it's out of balance, it...

    3.08 Discussion Thread for P2NV / P2Z

I did this, and it worked. Thank goodness!!!!! :) Part of the update is an update for the H3-3D, so I don't know what you can do beyond keeping your fingers crossed. ------------------------------------------------- Technical Problem Subject: H3-3D Reset So these are the instructions...

    3.08 Discussion Thread for P2NV / P2Z

Wait! Good idea! I just did the update and now the H3-3D is DEAD! What a freakin' nightmare!!!!!! :( I've only had this Phantom 2 and gimbal for 8 days, and already I'm screwed! This sucks!!!! This is the SECOND TIME a firmware update killed a H3-3D! SOB!!!!

    Go pro recording start/stop

If nothing else, that will save a ton of hard drive space! :)

    alternative for Zenmuse ribbon cable

Interesting. Thanks for sharing. :) I've been having better luck with the stock ribbon by hot glueing it to hold the shape at the USB connector, while plugged into the camera. Makes all the bending occur in a nice graceful bend, without flexing at the end, where they always break.

    Go pro recording start/stop

Beautiful shot! If stills are your priority, absolutely no doubt shooting stills is better. Of course, one flight for stills, and another for video, covers all the bases. :) As I recall, the Hero 3+ Blk can shoot 1080 and simultaneously shoot 7 mp stills in Wide FOV (5mp in Medium, or...

    Go pro recording start/stop

While I shoot more video than stills, I do often fly and shoot stills. Some gopros can do both at the same time, and what you end up with depends on how the camera is set, 5 to 7 megapixel. It's true the FPV screen does goes momentarily blank during a still shot on the GoPro. At first I didn't...

    Go pro recording start/stop

What QYV said, plus I've found the 10 second time lapse mode works well for stills.

Gimbal or Go Pro settings ..something is wrong

Don't disagree with your suggestions, but there are some trade-offs. If a bright sky is an important part of the shot, aiming down often ends up with the sky largely blown out (just white). Also, if the horizon is out of frame center, fish-eye effect occurs. The best work-around I've found is...

    Zenmuse H3-3D Gimbal Vibration Problem

These 3D gimbals sure are finicky beasts. I'm guessing quality control is minimal! I've had 4 of them. One died on a firmware update, one was lost, and one returned immediately because it refused to hold a tilt position. My current one acts similar to yours in terms of the making noise while...

Massive Jello after installing ImmersionRC 600mW

I've fought with jello problems too, and after two Phantom 2's and three 3D gimbals, over a couple hundred flights, FWIW, here are my conclusions... First off, I agree with smallman28 on both counts. Brighter conditions are more likely to suffer jello, and some tweaking of the gains can help...

    Gimbal shaking??? (video)

I own two 3D's. One died on a firmware update (%#}{<^*%#}€+#*!!!!!). The other is part of my working set up. Both had the problem turning left. Cured the second one by balancing the roll axis. Yaw on the dead one is most certainly not spring loaded one way or the other. There is some...
