    Phantom 4 - Dirty Thoughts

I wouldn't be surprised if the battery life is less even with stonger batteries. I don't have a P4 but everyone says it's more "solid" and it's advertised as having multiple circuit boards, therefore heavier. The props have to exert a force equal and opposite to the quad's weight just to hover...

Are drones just a passing fad? Are you bored with your 'Phantom'?

This drone lets me fly like a bird. I can get up above things and have a look. I can even take hi-res videos and higher res photos. I took a very detailed photo of my roof. If there were a problem, I would know and could have it fixed. Now I know how tall my trees are, and which trees are...

FPV options for people who wear glasses?

How do you hook it up? Is there an output from the RC that it uses?

FPV options for people who wear glasses?

Quantum V2 is only about $50, that's something I could actually buy just to try. It even includes the screen? Never heard of it before. And is it cheap because it uses the RC's transmit/receive capability rather than replicating that in the goggles? I'm in a sort of disbelief. I thought...

Real obstacle avoidance should have been rotating 360

This raises an interesting question: since the P4 has object avoidance, and a rotating camera can be somewhat replaced by yawing the quad, will they have to put object avoidance on the Inspire too?

How Accurate it auto takeoff and RTH ?

I'd try in a more open area five times and see how accurate it is. I read in another thread that the accuracy depends on whether your tablet itself has GPS capability. My tablet is an old Ipad 4 (not mini) for which I have an extender on the holder. It doesn't have GPS capability and so my...

    There will be no P4

I try to fly paranoid and high to avoid the possibility, but I certainly don't nay-say the value of automatic avoidance. I wish I had it. We have a lot of tall trees here and it would be nice to be able to fly comfortably below 120' .

    There will be no P4

P4 looks very interesting, but as a new P3A owner I am still learning how this one works. They have a lot of new tech on the P4, and I think that there will be a period of refinement and development. As always, we're the beta testers. Didn't someone say it has machine learning in the...

FPV options for people who wear glasses?

So my question is whether I can get it with the correction built into the device. It would be better than having to wear glasses and fit the fpv goggles over. Sorry my original question was unclear because the first time I wrote "glasses" I meant "goggles".

FPV options for people who wear glasses?

Do they make glasses (correction: goggles) for those of us who have had cataract surgery? I now have fixed lenses in my eyes and see 20/20 (better actually) at infinite focal distance. (After the surgery I became more interested in outdoor activity, because I had spent my whole life...
