Believe there are third party trackers that can be installed (Marco polo) on the drone that give a track able signal via 3G. You could in theory use the Dji app to follow your flight path but the best advice is to follow guidelines and fly LOS (line of sight).

1.5.3 is reported as the latest version of RC firmware with my P3A also so I don't think it's anything to be concerned about.
Looking at previous firmware updates, the aircraft and rc don't always match it version number.

Initially I'm planning to explore local trails around abriachan to get a feel for the P3A, then I'll return to Ben Wyvis while there is still snow on the hills.
There are also some great trails around Loch Duntelchaig and rural trails around bunachton. As for peaks, beinn a' bha'ach...
Up in Inverness and just recently treated myself to a P3A. Weather isn't kind at the moment but I'm reading and learning, practicing with my smaller quads and the simulator.
Looking forward to some travelling into the hills.

I've got a Hubsan X4 and Syma X5sc that I use around the house.
Both are relatively easy to maintain, with the Hubsan very easy to get parts for and great fun to fly.

I literally purchased a phantom 3 advanced on New Year's Eve.
Was going to moan about it but the reality is that I also got the hard case free (which I was going to purchase anyway) so I've not really lost out by a large degree.

If you are running an iOS device, some of the recommendations are to delete and reinstall the DJI go app from the App Store. I would think the same advice would stand for android as well.

I had real issues updating the remote firmware last night, initially using the three standard update procedures: Microsd with adaptor, USB stick and direct connection to phantom 3 camera.
Nothing would initiate the blue led until I did a cold reboot of everything: phantom 3, remote and iPad...
