just set your phone(s) to airplane mode when flying. it's safer and you don't need the dstraction of answering a call anyway. you just need to set WiFi once you turn your phone to airplane mode.

face to face support is difficult to get/manage/arrange given the amount i travel. i use Sandisk Extreme Pro 32GB Micro SD cards. i also buy all my electronics from B&H. i have peace of mind they support ALL products they sell one way or another...replace/refund/repair.

That last part is just good practice/planning. Most flyers don't think about these issues which can lead to crashes/damage. I do a similar thing and only fly to the furthest point away from me and head back w/ about 60% batt power (what i'm comfortable w/) to give me a buffer for any issues...

what "mode/settings" are set you are flying - GPS mode? six SATs can be a little low. you mentioned that you calibrate the compass but that doesn't say what settings you have in your controller...that may be the issue? just not quite sure what you're trying to explain.

yep. still prefer it over digital actually. the film case is about the same width as a spool of thread, or maybe some prescription pill cases. it'll be a little harder to cut the prescription pill cases but you could probably use the spool of thread as a "cast" and just wrap some tape...
