Either my gimbal is finally level or it's now seriously tilted, I can't figure out which. It looks way out of whack on the ground but once it's in the air, it looks fine so I guess I can live with it. I just did a brief test flight before work and apart from a much longer than normal wait for...
Firmware update complete, IMU calibrated outside on the lawn on top of a cardboard box after chilling in the fridge, gimbal calibrated, and compass calibrated. Before I head off to work I'll take a quick test flight and see how she reacts to the latest orders.
Just got done updating the bird and RC to the latest firmware. Once it was done, I did something I never dreamed I'd do and shoved the bird in the fridge to cool it down so I can do an IMU calibration. This only begs one question....why can't I be this productive during the day?!
I'm here! :D Was thinking about taking the P3 out later today but they're calling for 102ºF (39ºC) temps so I think I'll be staying in the house with the A/C on instead.
If nobody minds, I'll be taking my thread back now. :p
On Sunday night we had some good family friends over and they brought their grandchildren. Pete loves technology so I had to show him the P3P and the kids absolutely went nuts for it, too. I learned I have to be careful with the Phantom...
Professional lens = larger lens = more light = better shots.
I went from using Canon P&S models for years to a Nikon D3200 DSLR and the results are amazing but even those require editing....just not as much as one taken with a potato. You can make any photo look good, some just take more effort...
I got harassed by a total b-word of a cop for watching trains on the side of a public highway. One of the neighbors with nothing better to do apparently called them on us and she showed up looking for a criminal and when it became obvious that I wasn't, she tried to turn me into one. I'm always...
This plot of land, these 1400 acres are what pushed me over the edge to buy my P3P. For years I've driven by on Tualatin Valley Highway (Oregon 8) and seen this massive plot of land, wondering how much longer it would last as the cancer of suburbia encroached from all angles. The City of...
Well I had my first negative comment today which was more of a drive-by-shouting than anything else. I had just wrapped up sending the P3 out over Ladd-Reed farm which is now public land owned by the City of Hillsboro and is due to break ground as a new, massive housing and shopping development...
Apparently he was 17 and she 23. Imagine if the genders had been reversed and a 23 year old man had attacked a 17 year old female. I guarantee you it wouldn't be just third-degree battery. They should have thrown the book at that crazy *****.
So far I've run into four people and all the reactions have been positive. I'm loaded up with positive responses for the inevitable negative nancy, though.
