I think the best way to look at it from a commercial point of view is:
1: Spending $5-$10k is not much if you are serious about starting a new business. Even with the drone purchase you are talking 10-15k max.
2: Spending this kind of money will weed out many of those who aren't serious...
Do not petition to do away with the requirement to be a pilot to operate a drone for commercial use. I'm using that as my excuse to obtain my pilots license!!!! :)
I purchased P3Pro in December from allERC.com. I think they are a vendor on here. They were great to deal with and I got a great deal. $1159 for the Pro w/extra battery & DJI backpack. I think they are based out of Arizona.
I've already submitted for a 333 exemption. I am also getting my Sport PL. You can get the Sport PL for about $4k. I figure if I want to make a little money off this I may as well put in the money and time to do it the legal way.
Follow-Me uses the tablet or phone as the tacker. There is an issue with many tablets after the 1.5 firmware update where it gets an error when trying to use follow-me. I have a Galaxy Tab A and it does not work with it. DJI is aware and says it will be fixed in a firmware update.
I called to ask and they said they have 319 in stock. I didn't like that I had to use PayPal instead of directly paying them with Visa cc. But, they said the first time they deal with anybody now they do it with PayPal. I'm still able to use Visa but it goes through PayPal.
"All E RC" is having a sale for a Phantom 3 Pro with an extra battery and DJI case for $1159. I've never dealt with "ALL E RC" before. They are an authorized DJI dealer though.
BTW....this will be my first quad and I can't way to play with this new toy. Well, I mean utilize this new tool.
