The Phantom 2 uses the first DJI GO app, not the second, because the second app will not recognize the Phantom 2. I think I am correct in this. I own both and use the basic GO app for flying the P2

The best advice is to calibrate your IMU and be sure to calibrate your home point, called doing the DJI dance where you turn in circles, without proper orientation and calibration, no telling where your drone could end up. Don't blame the drone because you failed to do proper preflight...

Calibrate your IMU as soon as you can. If your Phantom has not had it's IMU calibrated, then there is your problem. Good Luck
